Hunterisms

The other day after I put on my makeup and did my hair, Hunter came up to me and put my face in his hands and said "I love your face!"

I was sitting in the chair and Gookie was playing with my necklace which had a big pendant on it. Hunter came up and took the pendant and put it down my shirt and said "I'm dropping the anchor mom"

When we are in the truck and Gookie has her bottle (yes she she needs to be off ot it, i am aware) she will throw her bottle to Hunter and he will tell us "Gookie dont wants it"

What Brad misses while he is at work

Ignore my doofus laugh. What can I say, I have very entertaining kiddos!

First Day of Preschool

These pictures of my Hunter Boy pull on my heart strings, he looks sooo old. Today was his first day of preschool. He got ready put on his "pack pack" and said "Let's go mom!" and when we got there he walked right in, went up to a boy and said "hi! let's go play with the toys!" And took off. No looking back and caring that I was leaving. He has always been like that. Ready to have some fun!

Two is twice as much fun!

We always say "what did we do before kids? we must have been soo bored!" Or "It's so fun with the two, What did Hunter do before Gookie?" Having kiddos is life changing, for the best. There is NOTHING like holding your brand new baby, no greater joy. And to watch them grow up....priceless.

First Store Meltdown

I realize that I am very lucky with easy going, happy kiddos. As of yet, they have never had stranger anxiety, colic, or even the dreaded store meltdown. They have always been really happy little shoppers. Today however, I experienced a meltdown. Although it was pretty mild, it was a first.

We headed to Idaho Falls and went to Michaels. Hunter kept asking to go to Michaels once I mentioned the name. When I told him Michael's was a store, not as in Michael's (a persons) house. Before we went in the store I told him that if he wanted to stay out of the cart he had to stay by mom and not run away and if he did he would go in the cart . Once in the doors and down an isle, he ran away. I went and got him and told him he couldnt run away and put him in the cart. Oh boy, tears, loud crying etc etc. Oh and he kept crying "i want michael!!" I continued shopping and told him when he runs away, he has to go in the cart.

Then once we were at the truck in the parking lot and I took him out, he ran off!! Oh boy did he get it!! I grabbed him and got down on his eye level and told him sternly that that was not safe, never run away in the road etc etc. Again, crying, wailing and the works. I knew he was tired and i also knew I had super walmart to still go to. I almost thought about just going home and thought, "no way! i'm here and i'm not going to the store later and Hunter needs to learn to behave and if he doesnt, there are consequences!" However, I did tell him if he was happy while in the cart (he lost the out-of-cart priveledge) we could get a treat.

And after that I didnt have one problem. He helped hold my shopping list, helped put items on the counter and was awesome!! After 15 minutes on the car ride home he was OUT!! Plus he stayed asleep when I got him out of the truck and put him in bed.

The treat of his choice, a little bag of cheetos and capri sun.

John Bingham Family Reunion

We are going to have our first family reunion where it is just us, my parents and us 7 kiddos and our kiddos. I am so excited! It will be next July here in Idaho. BRad and I had fun finding places big enough to fit 40 + people and then going and checking them out. But this is the place that is most affordable and its pretty cool! It was their family barn and the totally remodeled it!! I love it (i am a lover of barns and wheat fields) and Brad thought it was pretty cool too. I asked him if someday we could have a barn house....sigh... It is in Ashton, Idaho. Here's the website for your future reunion!

My funny girl

Yesterday while we were at Gramma and Grampa Landon's, Gookie was taking some great steps. Then when she would fall down, she was able to get up by herself!!! She was laughing so hard the whole time. SHe was doing great.
Then all today it's like she forgot she could do it or something. But at one point I said "Come on Gookie! Stand up! YOu can do it!" ANd she totally threw herself on the floor and had a little tantrum. Brad and I could not believe it!!
But this evening she was walking all over the place! She was down the hall and back again into the kitchen etc. ALL OVER and she was doing great. Also when she fell down she could just stand up, not even using her hands!! Oh, and all the while she was fully dressed. So I am not worried about her being a streaker. However, she has only been walking in the evenings. I told brad that she is an evening walking, i sure hope that is much different than a street walker!!

Atleast she is walking, even if it is on her own time. I'll take it!

Why dont friends with kids have time?

I took this from my sister-in-law

Jimmy Fallon is my favorite. I saw this last night and was laughing so hard.

Preschools

I wouldnt even bother looking for a preschool for Hunter since he is just 3. But he is a boy that would really love and benefit from a great preschool. He would love the songs, playing, making friends, getting dirty all the while learning to take turns, share and expressing his feelings etc. The trouble is, I cant find a preschool where any of that is important.

Brad and I went to an in-home one yesterday,it was a very nice home and she had the school area completely set apart and it was nice, but her curriculum made me sick. Her focus was getting the kids ready for kindergarten, and she didnt seperate the 3 yr olds from the 5 yr olds! SO there she was telling/showing me what she does and I am thinking, "who wants this for a 3 yr old?!?!" The focus was numbers, letters, writing, and it would be 12 kids to 1 teacher!! She had a listening station instead of reading the books to the kids herself. No discovery table, no dress up area, NO BLOCKS, no painting etc etc. THATS what I am looking for. I just dont know if I will find it. I want a teacher who is AMAZING and can love Hunter for who he is. I love Hunter's enthusiasm and excitement for everything and I want that to be encouraged as well as setting limits, expectations and helping Hunter understand that.

That's what it was all about when I taught up on campus. I have sent in an application, but doubt Hunter will get in. SO just in case, I am on the hunt for Hunter. We go to another one today and we'll see how it is.

At first Brad thought I was just being picky. But Mother's have every right to be particular to find the best place for their children's needs. And after we left there yesterday, Brad said he didnt feel good about it either.

Concerning

Brooke (Gookie) as mentioned previously has started taking steps, FINALLY. But I am pretty concerned with the fact that she will ONLY take steps if she is naked. Yes, out daughter is a streaker. The other day when these videos were shot, she would not walk until after her bath and she was naked. I try and try every day but she wont do anything until the evening after her bath. Luckily we have gotten to the point where she will walk in her diaper. But if its a diaper and a shirt, she wont do it. She is too funny and crazy.
So here are videos of my sweet daughter streaking and then a video of her "talking". She's hillarious.

Gookie "talking"

Slip of the tongue

Today Bradley had off so we spent some time in Idaho Falls. We went to old navy to get hunter some jeans because he has definetely outgrown his. We were looking around and I noticed a mom with her two girls, one of which definetely had dwarfism. We got Hunter a pair of jeans and went over to the girl section to see what there was for Gookie. Gookes has the shortest legs ever, so we were trying to see what size she would fit into. I had Brad hold her up and put a 2T next to her and said "oh yeah, those will totally dwarf her!" and slapped my hand over my mouth as I realized the mom and her two girls, one of which IS a dwarf was right by us!!!! Brad could not believe I said that, I CANT BELIEVE I SAID THAT!! I didnt say it to be funny or anything, it just came out. Brad said "i would imagine me saying something like that, but not you!" Yeah. I feel dumb.

Sink saga

5:30 the kiddos and I headed to Memaw's house. We had a wonderful time and the kids played and played outside. It was just what the kiddos and I needed. Memaw and I had a great visit. Then we left at 9pm and came home to a note on the door from the rooter man who said our sink was fixed. We ran the water for a long time and it all seems good. HUZZAH!!!!

I have sprayed the sink with bleach and it seems to be smelling better.

Now Brad and I are vegging and watching king of the hill. Good times, good times.

Friday thus far

Has not been eventful. It has been spent inside waiting for the Roto Rooter guy yet again. I have to be where I can hear anything because he most likely doesnt know we are in the basement. So we have spent all day in the basement. Right now HUnter is in the bathtub playing with shaving cream and water. He's happy and that's what matters. I really wanted to go and do something fun with the kiddos today.

It is 3:50 pm and I hope he comes soon. We got a bunch of water out and an hour ago I heard the sink bubbling and it was full os sewer water. Oh man it smells like vomit and I am sick of being in this stinky house.

So we are planning on going to spend time with Memaw at her house this evening. Brad is at work until late tonight so unfortunately he will miss the fun. I am just hoping this guy wont be too late so we can spend some good time at Memaw's before getting late.

Gookie has not been walking as much today. She has done some and that is a heck of a lot better than nothing! She has little pig tails on top of her head and I just want to eat her up!

Hunter and I were playing hide and seek earlier and I jumped out and scared him. He loves that, only as he was running away he was look back at me and totally bumped his head. I felt horrible and he had big tears. And as I rocked him in my arms and kissed his cheeks he said "I need my Daddy!" and just then Brad called and Hunter got to talk to Daddy. I wasnt the bad guy for too long because after the tears stopped HUnter asked for me to scare him again. I put him in the tub instead.

And that is about it.

Hallelujah!!

Gookie will be 16 months old on the 22nd and is not walking. She is sooo stubborn. She truly can do it, but its when she wants to do it and if we try when she isnt willing, wo man!
Tonight after dinner we were sitting in the family room and Brad stood Gookie up and she just took off and walked to me!!!! I couldnt believe it. So we did it more and more and I got further and further and she would walk from me to Brad and from Brad to me. Then Brad had to get up because our sink was leaking because they were running their dishwasher up stairs. (yeah our house smells like vomit and she was very rude when we asked if they could not run their dishwasher, but i digress)
So Gookie had walked to the chair was Brad was and then he left. And all by herself she just walked away from the chair by herself!!! I am absolutely THRILLED!!
I couldnt find my camera until after Hunter stripped down and Gookie took off her diaper! Maybe she likes the feel of the breeze as she walks so fast!!
We had her walk until she wore herself out. I am so happy!! Good videos coming soon.

OUCH!!

So i was going about my morning normally. I had done the dishes (as much as I could before the sink clogged) and I super swept the floor. Then a sharp pain started in my left ovary and it got worse and worse. I got the sweats, sick to my stomach and nautious and I seriously thought i was going to die! I didnt know if it was toxic shock or what! Brad was donating plasma and I called dear Beth and she came over. I was talking to my mom on the phone and totally passed out!! I was hurting so bad!! I knew i needed to get to the ER or something. Eventually the other symptoms lightened up and eventually the pain subsided and I felt like a baby!! One minute I was dying and then I was okay. I called my obgyn office and told them about it and they talked to the dr and told me that it was a ovarian cyst that had ruptured!! This happened long ago to me in high school. So now that it has ruptured I feel like new. If I have any pain at all I am to go to the dr right away. I am relieved it is over and now I can go back to cleaning the house.

Monday and Tuesday

Bradley had off!! It was so nice to have him home and we kept busy. I mean, we had errands and things to do to get out of the house. The kiddos are doing MUCH better and we are all sleeping better which makes a world of difference!

The sink is still having some problems with draining VERY slowly and dishes take all day to do. I think Brad should call the landlord this time. I called him before and told him it was still clogged and he told me just to run hot water!! Oh brother.

Much to do today and I better get started.

Being home..

Is not all that it is cracked up to be. I am sooo bored and lonely. Mom and Dad have gone on to Vancouver to get all their things in order to be able to move to Driggs in a month.
Since being home Bradley has had to work until midnight every night and the kiddos are miserably sick. I miss a house full of a dozen children and the space of a house to hold over a dozen children.I am closterphobic (SP?) in this rabbit hutch of a home. I miss my sisters and there always being something to do and especially someone to talk to.
I also feel like I am falling apart physically. I need to get to a dr and a dentist and an eye dr!!! KA CHING!!! I have this thing on my forehead that needs to be removed, i feel like the dentist i went to a YEAR AGO for an abcess didnt do anything and feel like i am getting another abcess (I do brush and floss i sware!) My periods have not been regular for over 5 months now and my sister has diagnosed me with some condition that i never can remember the name of and i call it cystic firbosis even though i know that;s not the name.
So these are my thoughts and feelings as I wait another 45 minutes from Brad to get home. I am lonely and bored and falling apart.
