Spud Day

Last Saturday was the best spud day ever!! Well the parade was the best ever. It was super long and the kiddos were actually into it this year. They were getting candy like crazy. Our niece, Livvy, really got the candy part down!! Hunter was more into watching the parade, would grab one piece of candy from the road and he was happy with that. NOT LIVVY!! She would scoop up candy and would have handfuls of it! It was funny. At one point a float came by and the driver of the float called out to her kids to come up to the truck and get some candy. SO they did and the next thing we knew, Livvy was up there too with her hand out for some candy! She is too funny! There were trucks and tractors in the parade and Hunter was in heaven!

We had a great time being with cousins, Aunts and Uncles. After the parade was the spud day festvities at the park. We didnt get to do much because we had to leave to get brad to work on time. But it was still a great time and once we got home the kiddos went RIGHT down for naps!!

Stake Conference

Brad had to be at workby 8 am today. When Hunter came and woke me up he was in tears because Daddy was at work. That should have been my first clue of how today was to be.

But by some miracle the kiddos and I were showered/bathed, had breakfast, dressed, bag ready and out the door by 9:30 for 10:00 conference. The stake presidency was to be reorganized so it was already packed by the time we got there.

We went into the overflow in the relief soceity rooom and we sat in the back row. My kiddos were amazing the 10 minutes before it even started, but then once someone stood at the pulpit they had had it. Gookie was soooo tired. I made a little walkway for her so she had some space to play. She didnt care. She didnt want Hunter to look at her, touch her or even breathe! Every little thing he did she would freak out. HUnter was tired so he was clinging to me so of course Gookie didnt like that and both of them were fighting for my lap. Gookie discovered she could climb under chairs and break free so i was trying to prevent that which made her mad and occasionally i had to chase after her. It was EXHAUSTING and i wanted to cry. No I did not feel the Spirit at all, or even heard a word.

So after the first 55 minutes we had to leave that room. I have NEVER seen Gookie like this before. Just wailing and whining and crying. So we went into another room and there was only 1 other couple in there. For some reason Hunter threw himself on the floor and he began wailing. I think he thought we were going to nursery, so it makes perfect sense of why he was dissapointed. But because he was so tired he went over the top!!!

So I grabbed both kids and our stuff and we left. I was crying, Hunter was crying, Gookie was whining and I am thinking "why is it even worth this?"

So we come home and Hunter had completely lost it. Gookie goes right down, and Hunter is crying. I put him in bed and I call brad crying. I tell him how I feel, that I knew going was right, I know the church is true, and all I wanted was to do what was right. But where were the blessings! My kiddos were not overcome by the spirit and angels!! Quite the opposite!! blah blah blah. By then Hunter comes out of the room in hysterics and I have to go deal with him again. I put him in our bed and I lay by his side crying with him, praying to Heavenly Father that he knows I tried. Bummed that I didnt feel the spirit and probably kept others from that too! =P
And as i prayed the spirit whispered "the blessings will come when they are older". If that means they will have testimonies and live righteously then it was worth it! Every FHE will be worth it, every sunday being at church alone will be worth it. Doing what is right will be worth it!!

So they both took 2 hours naps. While they napped I put on church music and felt peace.
They have been awake for 2 hours and things are still peaceful. They were both extremely exhuasted and when you have tired kids you have wailing kids. And I still love every ounce of them!

Crappy night to a great day

We woke up and loaded the kiddos to go to Shelley for spud day and had a great time (details and pics in a later post)
We came home and Brad went from the truck to his car and left for work. The kiddos went right down for a nap and I cleaned the house. Then when they woke up we loaded up to go back to Shelley to babysit for Dave and Jaimi and we got to play with the girls. It was so fun! Hunter was so excited to go back and play with his cousins. Once Memaw came to take over the kiddos and I loaded up to go grocery shopping. It was 8 pm and we were feeling our breaking point approaching. So we quickly got all we needed at super wal-mart and then headed for the check out. ARGH!! Only a few registers open and super long lines!! I approached the lines with a good attitude. We were in line for 30 MINUTES!!!!! I know because i kept time. By the time we were gone I had reached my breaking point as well as the kids. I think each of us shed tears on the way home. The checkout lady was sooo slow and i did feel bad for her at first, but that sympathy died as we approached. I seriously wanted to scream!
We are finally home 2 hours after we left Shelley and the kids are in bed. I want to crash!
Tomorrow I get to face Stake COnference on my own with the kiddos. I am even more tuckered out by the thought of 2 HOURS of doing what is right!! But I will do it and hope that I get to hear ateast 1/2 of a talk.

Hoarder?

Brad and I went through boxes today and I found a bunch of stuff I had saved. Among the stuff were school journals form 1st -3rd grade! i threw them away. Most of the stuff was from high school, Sierra High school in California. I think I had to pack them away after we moved because it was still so sad and hard for me to go through them. Now that it is 10 yrs ago since we moved, i could laugh at all the little things i had saved and I did get rid of things. But one thing i will forever keep is dated September 27, 1999 and it lists the qualitites of the man I want to marry. Yup, Brad meets all on my list! How lucky am I? It was a fun walk down memory lane.

Grammie and Papa's place

Today was Brad's last day off and after sleeping away the morning, and then going through boxes to get stuff ready for the dump, we went to Grammie and Papa's again. I took pictures so siblings can see how great this place is. The iceing on the cake is knowing that mom and dad have places to put their things!! The milkcan they nearly got divorced over, mom's jar of buttons from her grandpa's place in morro bay, Gramma's organ etc. I am also hoping it will entice you to come and visit!!
Notice Mom's button jar!

Eastern Idaho State Fair

Ever since I have been with Brad, we have gone to the fair every year. The first time we were engaged, the second time married and pregnant. Oh the fair has so many memories. When pregnant with Hunter i think i spewed around every corner thanks to a new smell. ANYWAY, the fair is much more fun when I am not pregnant and espcially now that Hunter really loves it. He is in heaven with all the animals and the rides. We enjoy watching Hunter light up, we also enjoy couting mullets and taking pics of the best ones! Tomorrow is the last day of the fair. Until next year mullets!

Ahhhhh!

Brad has been working midnights and he comes home at 8 am and sleeps until the afternoon. So yesterday, after I picked up Hunter from preschool, the kiddos and I loaded up to go to my parents'. It is so peaceful and wonderful up there. They have done alot of unpacking and alot of work and their place looks great. But `not onlythat, there are in the middle of 8 acres of aspen trees and it just gorgeous and peaceful. We sat out on their deck in the sun yesterday and listened to the wind through the trees. My dad took a little nap out there. Hunter is able to go out and run around and play in the "woods" and Gookie walks all over, its just so nice!!

Brad came and joined us yesterday afternoon and we all had dinner together and helped with some boxes etc. Then Brad went home and the kiddos and I stayed and spent the night. Today I took the most glorious nap in my parents bed, surrounded by windows that looked out into the trees! I could hear hunter outside playing with Papa and Grammie. It's just something we have never been able to do, go to Grammie and Papa's. I havent been able to go "home" since I have been married. My parents moved and then went on two missions to africa. both my kiddos were born while they were gone, so it is soo nice to be able to go to their house! We have both sets of granparents only 45 minutes away in each direction! How lucky are we?!?!?

The downfall of their location, they are in the woods and 2 years ago there was a bear that was seen. I have an extreme phobia of bears (thanks girls camp!) i mean my thinking is just totally coo coo for cocoa puffs crazy!! So yesterday Papa wanted to take a walk with Hunter. I totally made him carry around a tamborine from the toy box and shake it to make noise to scare away the bears. I KNOW!! CRAZY! I am laughing so hard at myself as I type this, but this is how my thinking is about bears. I also made Papa say a prayer with Hunter that they would be safe and bears would stay away. I KNOW!! But this is how wonderful my pappy is, he did that all for me! My mom and husband totally would have told me I was crazy, but my dad humored me and did it!!! He's the best. So there they were, walking in the woods with my dad shaking the tamborine!! I was better today, I didnt require anyone take a tamborine outside. =)
