H1N1

No we don't have it. Whew. I have become a germ-a-phobe Brad said. But can you really blame me? I dont go to the store with the kids if I can avoid it and we pretty much just stay home. I hate when the kids have fevers and are just miserable, if i can avoid them getting the swine flu I will!
So I have been kind of torn about the vaccine. The Doctor offices arent getting it here, the vaccine is through the health department. Each county had a clinic on different days. Watching it on the news, I didnt really want to stand in line for hours in the snow just to have them run out. Yesterday was out county and in the end I decided against it. Standing in the cold, my kids would probably get sick. They do the "at risk" people first and if there is any left who knows. Yesterday my friend called and said it was now open to everyone. I still was hesistant because by the time I loaded the kiddos up and got down there, I just knew they would run out. She told me they had enough if I hurried. SO i figured it was worth a try. I changed diapers, got shoes on and we were off. AND WE MADE IT!! Gookie was first and she got it in her thigh and she just cried and cried. Then it was Hunter's turn and the nurse asked to hold Gookie for me. ANother Nurse came up and asked the first nurse if she needed some help with the cute baby. And the nurse said no, she wanted to hold the cute baby girl. Mom's like to hear things like that, especially when it is true =).
So as we were driving away I had complete peace. Isnt that what we mother's want when it comes to decisions about our children? I am more relaxed and feel like life will be more enjoyable now, especially when gathering with lot's of kids and family for the holidays. *sigh of relief here*

3 hours of sleep

Yesterday I had the worst migraine i have had in about 3 years. Thank you Brad who stayed home and took care of the kiddos as I was in a "migraine coma". Eventually the caffeine kicked in and I was WIRED but it took alot of the edge off the pain. I was up until about 4 am. Gookie had woken up at 3 and Brad left for work at 3:45. I got to kiss him goodbye which never happens. Brad came home at 7 am and Gookie decided to wake up then and have the smelliest diaper which did NOT stay in her diaper. So she is all clean and ready for the day and it isnt 8 am yet. This is not a normality in our house as we (kiddos and I) usually dont get up until about 9 am. The caffeine is still in my system which is why I am not dead yet. That will happen later on today I am sure of it.

SO it's kind of nice to have an early start. I have dishes soaking, Gookie in her swing growling away and now i have choices to make. Should I shower, read my scriptures, start a load of laundry.....hmm.. I will start with my scriptures then take it from there.

Tonight for Family Home Evening we went and got our pumpkins and carved them tonight. While carving them I found "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" in youtube and we watched that. It was NOT fun to be in the freezing wind while getting the pumpkins, but it WAS fun to have Hunter "help" and to watch Gookie try and eat the pumpkin (which really looks like her making out with it)

I did not do good over the weekend. I was weak. I will pay for it. Tomorrow we go and work out and I will weigh myself. I did do well today though. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Another Pound

Last night we worked out and I weighed myself again and I had lost another pound, for a total of 3 pounds! WOOT WOOT!!! I am so excited! It felt really good to work out last night. Afterwards we came here and Bethany and I watched Project Runway. I am so glad she was with me because I sware every commercial was about chocolate, ice cream or cookies!! Night time is when I usually would snack away, so it is hard to stop that habit, but i am doing it so far.

Walking Zombie

Last night Gookie started getting a fever from her shots. We knew this would happen, but I dont think you can really get prepared to see your child miserable. She woke up 2 hours after i fell asleep and was burning hot. I gave her motrin and tylenol and she and i just rocked in the chair waiting for it to kick in. She was so resless! After 2 hours she finally snuggled in and went to sleep. 2 hours later she was awake again, this time my dear husband got up. 2 hours later I got up with her. 2 hours after that, it was 8:30 and Brad got up with the kids. Needless to say we are both walking Zombies, but Brad is worse off. He has his classes and internship until 8 tonight. Poor guy. I sure do appreciate him and the fact that he is willing to be a walking zombie today because he helped me out last night. I LOVE HIM!

6 Months Old

I can't believe that Gookie is 6 months old!
Here are her stats:

Weight: 17.1 lbs 74th percentile
Height: 25.3 Inches 34th percentile
She is almost ready to crawl! She wants to so badly and works really hard. She will dig her toes in the floor with her tummy and bum in the air and will move forward that way. It looks like she is a little bunny. She continues to smile and loves to watch Hunter run around her. She is tough when Hunter accidently bumps her, or throws a soft football at her. You know, all that big brother stuff.
At her age Hunter was a pound heavier and 2 inches longer! SO fun to see their differences and similarities!
She has two teeth and we are still working on sleeping through the night.

HUZZAH!!

Today was day two of my calorie count. I have a profile on caloriecount.com and they figure everything out for me and i just add what i have eaten and it is automatically calculated for me. SO i just have to adjust my calories and stay under my goal. Yesterday was harder than today and tonight i went to the store to get healthier things. Raw baby carrots are only 5 calories! Today I went and worked out and it was easier than the one time i went last week. AND I LOST 2 POUNDS from a week ago. I am totally stoked! Feels real good!

Committed

No, not to an insane asylum. I am committed to myself for the first time ever. I am going to work out atleast 3 times a week and to watch what I eat. I am making this public because now you get to hold me accountable for this. And thanks to Bethany who will be my workout partner. I am tired of feeling sluggish and not happy with my body. I dont really have an idea yet of an ideal weight goal, I know that i just want to be in shape. So here it goes!!!

*YAWN*

My kiddos have irregular sleep patterns and it is killing me!!! They used to have the best schedules and were like clock work. Then as of this last week Hunter was staying up late, I mean anywhere from 11- midnight late!! We would put him down and could still hear him like 2 hours later, in the middle of the night just talking away or reading books in his room. So Saturday i decided to try without a nap. We were in SHelley that day and after we drove out of the driveway of Memaw and Papa steve's it was a royal fit! I mean he was screaming and crying, he was SOO tired. He did fall asleep on the ride home (45 minutes) and i think he fell asleep around 10:30 that night. Much better. And yesterday he had a nap and was out by 10 pm. So I think Hunter is getting back on schedule (fingers crossed). However, Gookie decided that since Hunter was getting back on a better schedule she should mix things up. SO saturday night she went down around 9 like she usually does. Then she woke up at midnight and decided to stay up until 2 am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She did the same thing last night but also woke up at 5 and 7!!!!! I would guess that it is her second tooth which you can feel, but when she wakes up she is alert and happy, not crying (unless you put her down). I am tired!!! But I have no room to complain really as my husband has been working at 4 am and that is wearing him down. He doesnt have class today but has his internship this afternoon, so he is sleeping while he can poor man. We are just a tired household. Here's hoping both kiddos take naps at the same time today!

The BEST book ever

Okay i just finished the Hunger Games and it is 100 times better than the twilight series!!!!!!!!!!

Book Recommendations

My book is 'The Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins. I started it last night and i am almost done. It is GREAT and sucks you in. When it was first suggested to me i thought it was some diet book. HAHa! it is a first book in a series and i need to request all the books from the library because i just cant put it down!!

Brad just finished this first book to the Ender's Game series by Orson Scott Carde and he is hooked. He is waiting for the next book from the library.

This is the book Hunter and I have been reading an night. It has animals but also has opposites, characteristics. Example, "I'm as quick as a cricket. I'm a slow as a snail. I'm as small as an ant. I'm as large as a whale" Fun book.

This and That

Hello. This last weekend was General Conference for our church and it was broadcasted from Salt Lake City. I Love being able to listen to it from home. Saturday we had our good friends Zac, Sam and Bethany (Hunter calls her Ba) over. It was just so uplifting to hear words of encouragement, counsel and expressions of love. Conference is every 6 months and i sware, my kiddos always seem to meet certain milstones during conference. Hunter was crawling by conference and his first steps were during conference as we were watching!
Here's what happened this time; Hunter started saying the alphabet and i nearly died!! We have never gone over the alphabet with him! Thanks sesame street.
Sunday we went to Shelley and uh "watched" conference there. Every one was there and it was nice to all be together. Hunter LOVES his cousin Averee and they played their little hearts out. Memaw was holding Gookie and let us know that she has a tooth!!!! We didnt even know she was teething!! So this conference Gookie is sitting up on the floor, HAS A TOOTH!! And she is still working on trying to crawl!! She is growing up too fast for me!! Hunter got a haircut last week and he looks old! In 6 months he will be 3 and she will be 1! It's just flying by! I love watching them play together, I love being a Momma.

Last night Family Home Evening (every monday night we spend time together as a family and will sing songs, read books, have a little lesson, activity and snack) We had our lesson on being prepared. We said "Be Prepared!" as a family several times and then went to the local grocery store where they are having a case lot sale. So we went grocery shopping and bought things in bulk so that we are prepared if anything happens. A food storage. For Christmas last year Brad's parents started us on food storage and it was such a great gift! We were able to go into our reserves when things have been really bad and we had no money to buy food. So we were prepared and we plan on continuing that. You just never know what will happen. Saving for a rainy day with food if you will. It's just a good feeling.
So afterwards we got icecream and I had a cone that i couldnt finish. I put some in a bowl for hunter and started putting groceries away, I looked over at him and the following video is what i saw.
