This and that

As mentioned my parents have been here this week and they just left. So i am a mess.

Brad left on Monday for Chicago. He has gone with the social work program and this will be such an amazing experience for him, so far it has been already. They go to Chicago for a week, meet with some inner city youth and then bring them back here to a ranch in Victor Idaho. So he will be gone all of next week to. So since Brad has left, I havent had to be alone thanks to the timing of Dad's skin cancer needing to be removed. I so appreciate them coming and the time we had together. I hope they enjoyed their stay.

My dad took Hunter to the John Deer place and they looked at the tracters and then went to arctic circle for ice cream. There's just nothing like having your parents around and adoring your children. Gookie is really talking now and she would just talk and talk, smile and laugh for them. And Hunter would play, hug them, snuggle with them and they would give him kisses. They go to the dr. on monday and will find out more about what dad's status is. We are all hoping the best and i know that they will be back on their way to Africa to finish their mission soon.

Yesterday I took the kiddos to th e dr. for a checkup. Everything is fine except Hunter snores in his sleep and sometimes stops breathing a bit. So i knew that that was a red flag because my niece Hollie did the same thing and had to have her tonsils and adnoids out. So yesterday the dr. looked in Hunter's throat and referred us to the Ears, Nose and throat dr. We went today and we had to wait FOREVER! Long story short, Hunter is having surgery next wednesday to have his tonsils and adnoids removed. They dont like to do it this young UNLESS they snore in their sleep and have apnea, whish he does. The dr. said Hunter's tonsils were very large. This was the only time they could schedule it and brad will be away. I guess the recovery process will be difficult since Hunter has never had a sore throat and will want to drink, but it will be so painful to swallow. My job as Momma is to make sure he stays hydrated. He will be there over night to make sure all is well and to have an i.v. to hydrate him. i am glad that he will be there over night. I am hoping that Mom and Pappy can come back for that, but i know they can only do what they can do, and that very well may have been this visit. Which was such a wonderful visit!

Grammie and Papa

My Parents had to come home from their mission because Pappy had skin cancer. So they flew into Salt Lake last week and Dad has had it removed on monday. Today they came here to visit us and to meet Brooke for the first time! Before they got here Gookie was soo tired but wouldnt fall asleep. about 10 minutes later they walked in the door and Gookie fell asleep in Grammie's arms. So cute.
Hunter is my dad's little shadow. My dad was laying on the couch and Hunter climbed up there trying to lay just like Papa. They will be here for a couple of days and i am so glad.
tomorrow Brad leaves for Chicago and he will be gone for two weeks! He is going with the social work program and this will be such a great experience for him. I am glad that mom and dad are here this week to keep me company.
Today brooke was sucking her fingers just like i used to. the same hand and the same fingers! so of course i had to take a picture!

What's up

Well Let's see. Last week i went to Rigby Lake with Auntie Sam and Uncle Yak whose real name is Zak but that is what Hunter calls him. Brad was way to tired to go as he is still working at 4 am. So i am thankful for Zak and Sam who are willing to play and pretty much loving Hunter as their own. I had ran out of a swim diaper and so Hunter was saggy baggy because he had a normal diaper. In these pictures he looks just like his dad!

I am loving the lazy summer days. We will pick rasberries in the evening and sit on the porch while Hunter plays and plays. During the day the kids and i just hang out, run errands and take naps. It is sooo nice that Hunter and Gookie nap at the same time in the afternoon. So i can get things done, Brad will come home and take a nap at that time too.

Gookie is loving tummy time. She is lifting her head really well because usually she is just watching Hunter. She makes me laugh. She makes the funniest faces and just smiles all the time.

Hunter continues to be Mr. Personality and he too makes me laugh. He is talking more and more and is doing 2-4 word utterances (sentences., Yesterday he said "here you go Daddy" as he gave something to Brad. Of course some things we dont understand but i think it is because he doesnt know how to say it yet. Today his friend Adney came to play and they had so much fun playing with trucks and playing outside.

My Dad has skin cancer and they had to come home to have it removed. They are in Utah and the surgery was actually yesterday. They are recovering at my brother's house in Orem and Dad has a checkup in 2 weeks. The timing is actually perfect because Brad will be gone for 2 weeks starting next Monday. SO i hope i can go and crash at my brother's house with my kids so that i can be with my parents and that they can meet Brooke.

Here are some picture of my cute kiddos.

Big News

Well it is just us again and we are bored. We went with my sister to Utah and watched the Pioneer Parade in Salt Lake. After the parade, we drove home and my sister and kids made their way back to California. When we got home Hunter was calling out for his cousins. Pretty sad.

Brooke is too much of a scooter bug for her little cradle. So last night was Hunter's first night in a bed and not the crib so that Brooke can be in the crib. Well it was our first attempt and we had success!! He rolled off the mattress around 6 am and brad brought him into bed with us. So today for nap i tried the bed again and SUCCESS!!! i am just so glad. I hope that when it comes time to potty train it will be this easy. Laugh it up experienced moms! i can hope cant i!? ANyway, Hunter now sleeping in his bed (by bed i mean a mattress on the floor) is our big news!

California Fun

We got back Sunday at 3 am. We enjoyed our time in California even if it was over 100 degrees everyday. It was great to be able to be there for Maren's baptism and that she asked me to speak. I was really touched by that. My sister and her 3 kids came back with us! This is what summer is all about, cousins, Cousins, COUSINS!!

4th of July Weekend

Well our weekend started with a bang on friday night. As we were packing up to go out the door, Hunter tripped and fell and hit his head on the tub! He had a big ole goose egg right in the middle of his forehead! he looked like a unicorn! Poor boy!

As we were getting ready to go to Shelley on Friday we had a big rain storm. Hunter hit his head and then finally we were out the door. We had a family BBQ at Brad's aunt's house and all the cousins were there. It was a little chilly, but not too bad. Hunter had so much fun running and playing with the kids. We played a game of volleyball and then did some fireworks of our own there. Hunter was more interested in every "choo choo" he could hear in the distance as well as the tractor toys they had to play with. I dont know why Brad is making goofey faces in all these pictures. its so out of character for him.

For the 4th of July we went to Logan to go to the car show. We went with Brad's parents and Dave and Jaimi and their kids. There are about a billion pictures on the camera of cars but i will spare you. This isnt really my thing, but brad was happy and he enjoys it.My higlight of this was when a lady came out of the bathroom with TP hanging out of her pants!! I also enjoyed talking with Tammy and Jaimi. The men walked in front looking at all the cars and we followed with the kiddos. The weather wasnt too bad until the afternoon. We took the kids to play in a little stream. Eventually Gookie (Brooke) had had it! i took the kids to the car where i could turn on the A.C. and feed Gookie. The minute Hunter was in his seat he was OUT!! He was so tired. Brad came to the car and saw that both the kids were asleep and we decided to just drive back and make it to the fireworks in Idaho Falls. Hunter slept most of the way back, he was sooo tired! it was like 5 in the afternoon. Eventually i had to sit in the back so i could feed Gookie again. Thank you Memaw for letting us use your car!

We got to Idaho Falls around 7. We have a special spot that we go to with Aunt Kim and other family members. It is thee best place. Hunter ran around after sitting basically all day and we had some good food. i just want to make a shout out to Bradley. He is so great. I am just soo appreciative of all of his help. Hunter was running around and i had Gookie and we were both trying to eat. Brad wanted to play ultimate frisby with everyone so he took hunter with him and hunter just ran around with them. Brad is just so helpful and doesnt just expect me to watch the kids. He is a great man. Just wanted everyone to know that.
The fireworks were amazing. They are like 30 minutes long and set to music on the radio. The man who owns Malaleuca pays for them wich is WHY they are so amazing. Hunter did like these fireworks and would say "yellow" for every one. Here are pictures and a video of them. I did the video thinking of my mom who love fireworks but i am pretty sure they dont have them in africa. i am also pretty sure mom even forgot it was the 4th of july. Anyway, we got home late and went straight to bed. It was a busy weekend, fun and eventful. Another plus, we didnt get sunburned!
