Stranded in the wilderness

We had a great week in California with the family. It started out last friday by the girls seeing New Moon with Memaw (my mom in law) GREAT movie and great company. Then we went to the Shelley football game where Shelley won state. We went as a family and it is always great to be together. We spent the night in Shelley and the next morning we were on our way to spend the Thangsgiving week with my family in California. We had a great week. We went to Bass Pro Shop all together, my mom was there, I got to see my sister's baby, we played Dance Dance revolution and the kiddos just played and played,. We sure did miss my pappy though. I am glad mom could come out to help my sister, but it wasnt the same without Dad there. Did I mention that my sister's house is a Utah house. Meaning they are a household of Ute fans. Which is fine by me, but Brad is strictly BYU. It was a great time watching the BYU vs. Utah fan yesterday.

We left early this morning and a after Winnemucca we started having problems with the truck. And about 20 miles outside of Battle Mountain we pulled off an exit and the truck died completely. Thank goodness the sun was out and our kiddos were happy. We called a Bishope from the local ward of our church, The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Bishope came out and jumped the truck. We made it into town and my mom had made a reservation for us at the Big CHief Hotel. After we pulled in the truck died again. Luckily the garage is right across the street!!
So for supplies we bundled up the kiddos and put them in the stroller and walked way into "town" to a little market and got some things. Our hotel room has a microwave and fridge which is wonderful. We already had some cans of chili so we got some diapers and other things we needed. However we forgot the fact that we didnt have a can opener. BUT, my eagle scott hubby was prepared and opened the cans with a hammer and some tool.
The pictures are of our adventure today waiting in the truck for help and walking into town. More pictures to come of the thanksgiving festivities.
We are soooo thankful and appreciative of the prayers and help of our families. We dont know what is in store for us with the truck, that will all be another adventure for tomorrow. THANK YOU THANK YOU for everything.

I went on a trip with your mom to Utah once, and she said that we had to yell out the windows "Buck Mook" when we got to Battle Mountain. My family does this everytime we drive there. Anyway, I hope that our love for the thing that left the big BM on the mountain will be nice to you and the truck will not be fixable. Sorry we missed you, maybe next time. What would we do without the church? Glad you had someone to call for help.
