Thank you Gramma and Papa Steve

Last night hunter got to spend the evening with papa steve and gramma. brad brought him home around 10:45 and walked in with a huge dump truck and a truck with a scoop on it. Hunter was nearly asleep until brad walked in with those. brad eagerly got them out and hunter was playing with them until nearly midnight. He LOVES those trucks. it is so fun to watch him push them one at a time, always both to the same destination. he never leaves one behind. i like to listen to him make the truck noise he makes. He has discovered that he can sit in the back of the dumptruck as well as push other items around in the back too. So much fun. It is excatly what every boy needs. Of course gramma and papa steve would be the experts in that area. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

the last picture is of my handsome boys. I get to go to church with them!! Brad whistled at me today and then at hunter and now hunter tries to whistle. it is so funny. he is so smart!

SNOW!

i think it has been snowing every day since last friday. Big huge flakes, it is so pretty. Yesterday it snowed all day long. After our naps we got hunter all geared up in his new coat, snow pants and boots. Brad said it brought back memories for him and i think he couldnt believe he was getting his own son ready to play in the snow. So we went out and brad shoveled the drive and Hunter went straight for the snow. he walked out of the garage and right into the yard where the snow was to his thigh. this was his first time being in the snow and he LOVED it! He loves to be outside regardless, but he really liked to walk through the deep snow. he was talking the whole time and was happy. Meanwhile i was getting cold so i assumed he would be too. when i took him into the garage he was NOT happy and was telling me no. so we went back out and he trudged another path to the side yard. I am glad that he was able to play outside and that 13 degrees didnt faze him because he was all bundled up. good to know.

Grammie and Papa

My parents were here from last saturday to thursday. I was so lame and i didnt take a single picture!! i am kicking myself over it! We had a great time. Hunter would follow them everywhere and copy everything Papa did. It was so nice to have my mom and to do all the things i saw her do with my sisters when they were married and mothers. It was a great time. They leave again for Ghana in february and will be gone for another 18 months. the next time we have this oppurtunity with them Hunter will be almost four and Baby X (we have NOO girl name) will nearly be hunter's age now! Depressing when you think of it that way, so i wont anymore.

meanwhile, hunter is talking more and more. It is so fun, i love him so much! he definately was the entertainment when my parents were here. he is a spaz, i have no idea where he gets that! poor brad is outnumbered by the spazzy ones!

Brad finished the semester yesterday and i am sure he is glad of that! i start in january so it is back to trying to find people to watch hunter. But this is my last semester! i will be in classes alot this semester and leaving hunter kills me, but knowing that i will never have to do it again, and that i will have my degree is worth it!! i know it will be!

Pictures

The last picture is of hunter dressed like papa steve for his 50th birthday. The first two are Hunter and his cousin Elyse with Grammie's african necklaces on.

Mother in law

i know the term "mother in law" has a negative connotation, but MY mother in law changes that. She is just the best! First of all she raised 5 boys close in age and survived!! How she did that i dont know. She is such a great gramma and hunter loves her, as do all the grandkids. I just love how when we were in the hospital to have hunter, she was so helpful and understanding and such a great mom, which is what any woman wants in that situation.
Last night when we called her to tell her we were having a girl, she was willing to meet up with us and look at girl clothes for the heck of it. I just wanted to get out of the house and "do something!" and so we did. It was so nice to be with her and she actually bought little things. i think i am still in shock going in the girls section. Anyway, it is always nice to be with her, i wish we could do it more often.
I just had to brag about how great my mother in law is.

Baby

I am so glad brad and i put a little wager on this because i won! I could hardly sleep last night because i was having these weird dreams about the baby and what the ultra sound would show. Well we went to the dr today and we were with the ultra sound lady for a long time which was nice. I want to see my baby for as long as possible. Brad was standing the whole time with hunter in his arms who kept saying "baby". and then it was announced, "ITS A GIRL!!" I beamed, brad looked like a deer caught in the headlights and hunter said "NO!" and started crying. i really think hunter wanted a puppy instead of a girl.
So i am so excited and brad is too. i think he will be even more excited when she is born a baby and not a 12-13 year old girl which is what he fears about having a girl. You know, brad is still getting a hang of the whole female hormone thing.
Well we are excited. the hardest part will be agreeing on a name. he likes on and i like another. we have plenty of time though!
