the job

Brad is liking the job much more. I think it was just the first day jitters and feeling a bit overwhelmed, as we all do the first day. Tonight he is working midnight to 8 am. He has to stay up all night as he has to check on something every 15 minutes every other hour! SO he has loaded up on caffeine and is taking some with him. Hunter is at Memaw and Papa's for a little birthday get away. It is SOOOOO weird just having one child!! Gookie is teething and has had a low fever and is not her happy self. Once she was down though it was like "what do we do now?" because we didnt have Hunter around. So we are going to watch some t.v. on hulu and then he will go to work.

We went birthday shopping for the kiddos. Tomorrow we are having their birthday party. Lots of pics and video to come.

Happy Birthday Gookie!

Thursday my baby is one year old!! I just cant believe it! The kiddos and I watched this video today and it brought tears to my eyes. She was so little! And she was going to be a c-section if she wouldnt drop in an hour. But she did with the cord wrapped around her neck 3 times (just like Hunter) and she had swallowed maconium. Here is her first cry.


Gookie is such a blessing! She is so happy and always has been. She is a spitfire and we love her so much. I am so blessed to be a mother of two. My cup runneth over.

YAY!!

For some many reasons, Yay!! First the beautiful weather we have had since thursday. We have pretty much gone to the park everyday since then. Friday we went to the park and Hunter did AMAZING!!! He didnt run away, he listened to me and obeyed!! It was wonderful! And he has continued to since. That week where he was testing limits and me having to stick to it totally paid off! When i say stop, he does!! He has just been doing so well, its like he has grown up! So any mother's out there thinking "what has happened to my sweet boy" Stick it out, be firm, and the sweet boy will come back! And i think it helps that we can go outside too. Its hard being cooped up inside the house all day.

A rain storm is supposed to be heading this way, so i am glad that we have been out of the house as much a possible.

Saturday evening we had a bbq to enjoy the weather. It was great fun and enjoyed everyone's company that came. I loved watching all the kids play in the yard. And then afterwards we burned some boxes in the firepit. It was perfect because it wasnt that big of a fire and lasted about 30 minutes. Just in time to put the kiddos in the bath and into bed. It really makes me excited for the summmer!

We started the family ward on Sunday. We went to this ward from when Hunter was born to when he was 18 months. It was fun to see our primary kids older and passing the sacrament!! It just felt like a good fit and I think we will like it there.

Yesterday Brad started his real job at the JCC in St. Anthony. His schedule is definately crazy. Today and tomorrow he works from 2-10pm, thursday he has more training and so works 8-5 and saturday is midnight to 7 am!! It was hard for Brad to leave today. He has some apprehensions about the job right now, but it could be because it is new etc. So we went to the park as a family today at noon, came home and did scriptures and prayers as a family and then Brad had to leave and Hunter went down for a nap. WHen he told hunter "bye buddy, see you tomorrow" he kind of got choked up. Change is hard! Especially when it is this drastic of a change in schedule.

More Sunshine

Yesterday was such a beautiful day! We were going to go to the park with friends but it just didnt work out. Unfortunately, Hunter was asleep and when he woke up he was sooo sad when I told him we werent going to the park with Adney anymore. SO when Daddy got home and when Gookie woke up, we went to the park. It was so warm we could have worn shorts and been just fine!! Hunter played and played and Gookie went on the swing for the first time. I have pictures but they wont upload for some reason. So videos will have to do. Bethany just moved into a house across the street from the park, so we called her over and played and played. We are going to the park again today for sure with Adney!! And it is supposed to be nice all weekend, before the next storm. So we are definately taking advantage of the sunny days!

SUNSHINE!!!

Yesterday was beautiful!! So we went out in the yard and Hunter got to play and dig in the dirt!! Gookie was on a blanket until I turned away for a moment, and when I looked back she had dog poo in her mouth!!!!! I freaked and washed her mouth out with bleach. JUST KIDDING. I did however get the saucer and put her in that. Far away from stray dog's poop.

I FINALLY got some pictures of Hunter smiling! Only that Gookie was super tired and so she wasnt as smiley as she usually is. Oh well, they are monkeys!
